On the day it finally stopped raining we decided to hike up to the Mid-Levels --everything in HK has a vauguely sci-fi name: the Mid-Levels, Repulse Bay, the New Territories-- and take the sweaty Peak Tram to the top of Victoria Peak and view the city from the highest point on the island.

It was one of the more expensive things we did while in Hong Kong, about $15 USD each to take the tram roundtrip, but well worth it. The tram chugs up the mountain at a sharp angle through the ritzy Mid-Levels, and is just very 19th century and retro-awesome in general (it's been in operation since early colonial times). At the top of the peak there's a mall (of course), numerous restaurants, and awesome views of what (to me anyway) is hands-down the most arrestingly gorgeous city in the world.

So if the Mid-Levels (the skyscrapers directly below the top of the Peak) are where the very rich live, then I'm pretty sure this where comic book supervillans go on vacation. Perfect panoramic views of the city on the right side, and hilly jungle/deserted beaches on the left:
