Adventures in Narita, part 2

From Narita Japan 2008
So Narita had this one super-charming street full of little traditional shops, sushi bars, etc etc, all leading up to one of the nicer temple complexes that we have ever seen. We spent several hours here in the early morning before our flight and maybe saw a quarter of it-- the grounds were vast, with little hiking trails through the forest and ancient cherry trees and little statue-guys. And turtles.


I do love little statue-guys.


And temple-y things.


Please note my culturally significant outfit: capris, leggings UNDER the capris, socks, and Converse. In Japan, multiple layers of leg adornment are de rigeur. (It was also freezing)
